In announcing the appointment, President Tinubu aims to ensure a smooth transition in managing Nigeria’s treasury and to further advance the implementation of the government’s treasury policy reforms.

Onanuga highlighted Ogunjimi’s over 30 years of experience in financial management, spanning both public and private sectors. A career civil servant, Ogunjimi is the most senior director at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).

He has previously served as Director of Funds at the OAGF and Director of Finance and Accounts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ogunjimi holds several professional certifications, including Chartered Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Chartered Stockbroker, and Chartered Security and Investment Specialist.
