President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a ₦50 billion support package aimed at improving the welfare of staff across federal universities, according to the Minister of Education.

The announcement was made during a press briefing in Abuja, where the minister highlighted the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector and addressing long-standing concerns of university staff.

The funds, which will be disbursed in phases, are expected to cover salary enhancements, allowances, and other welfare-related matters, including infrastructure support.

The minister noted that this intervention underscores the president’s resolve to strengthen the nation’s higher education system and ensure a more stable academic environment.
