Tinubu, Atiku, Peter Obi, Saraki, Others, mourn Death of Akeredolu

Top politicians across the political divide have mourned the death of former Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. He passed away on Wednesday at the age of 67 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

In separate statements, serving and former political office holders all mourned and paid tributes to Akeredolu.

President Bola Tinubu, in an emotional tribute, described Akeredolu as a “fearless statesman and compassionate leader”.

The Presidential candidates of the Labour Party and the People’s Democratic Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar all mourned the death of Akeredolu as well as a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’abba who also passed away today.

A former Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, as well as the Governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, all joined other politicians in mourning the death of Akeredolu.
