President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to religious tolerance, stating that he will not be a bigot. While receiving the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria at the State House in Abuja on March 14, 2025, he emphasized his belief in religious harmony.

“I have no religious bias; I won’t be a bigot. My wife is a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church,” Tinubu said.

He noted that insecurity affects all Nigerians, regardless of their faith, and stressed the importance of national unity over religious differences.

Assuring the bishops of his willingness to listen, he reiterated his dedication to a Nigeria free from religious discrimination.
