President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, to attend the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit, set for January 27-28, 2025.

The summit will bring together African leaders, private sector stakeholders, development partners, and civil society to tackle the continent’s urgent energy challenges under the initiative “Mission 300,” which aims to provide electricity access to 300 million Africans by 2030.

Hosted by the Tanzanian government in partnership with the African Development Bank Group and the World Bank, the summit will serve as a vital platform for collaboration, innovation, and resource mobilization to achieve universal energy access across Africa.

A highlight of the summit will be the presentation of national energy strategies, or compacts, by participating countries, outlining each nation’s plan to achieve universal energy access in the next five years.

On the final day, Heads of State will endorse the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, a comprehensive roadmap to accelerate Africa’s progress toward the Mission 300 objectives.
