The Ogun State media community is mourning the sudden passing of veteran journalist Bukola Agbakaizu, who tragically collapsed while preparing for her afternoon shift at Ogun State Television (OGTV). Despite swift efforts to provide medical attention, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.

Agbakaizu, a dedicated broadcaster and former Vice Chairman of OGTV Chapel, was widely respected for her passion for journalism and commitment to excellence. She was an Ex-Officio member of the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and played a vital role in shaping the media landscape in the state.

Her passing has left a deep void in the industry, with colleagues and professional associations expressing their grief. The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ogun State Chapter, described her as a consummate professional whose contributions will be sorely missed
