Tragedy Strikes Ibadan: 10 Dead, 7 Rescued in Building Collapse

A devastating building collapse occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 31, at Jegede Olorunsogo, Ona Ara local government area, Ibadan, Oyo State. The tragic incident resulted in the loss of 10 lives, while 7 survivors were rescued.

Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the incident. “We received distress calls from neighboring residents at 2 am. Our emergency response team swiftly responded, recovering 10 persons from the debris, while rescuing 7 alive.”

The building collapse highlights concerns over structural integrity and emergency preparedness in the region.
