Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has reportedly accepted a contract offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, according to Sky Italy. The prolific striker, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, has agreed to personal terms with the Saudi club, marking a significant step toward his departure from Napoli.
Osimhen, 26, is set to earn a base salary of $35 million (£29m/$40m) over the course of his contract. However, while the player has reached an agreement, negotiations between Napoli and Al-Hilal over the transfer fee remain ongoing. Napoli is reportedly holding firm on their €75 million (£63m/$86m) asking price, while Al-Hilal’s latest bid stands at €70 million (£59m/$80m).
The Nigerian international, who scored 37 goals during his loan spell at Galatasaray, has been one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. His move to Al-Hilal would see him join a squad featuring several former European stars, including Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ruben Neves, and Kalidou Koulibaly.
While the agreement with Osimhen is a major breakthrough, the finalization of the transfer hinges on Napoli and Al-Hilal reaching a consensus on the fee. If completed swiftly, Osimhen could feature in the FIFA Club World Cup, with the mini-transfer window closing on June 10.
