In a recent interview with Fox News, US President Donald Trump played down concerns that TikTok poses a spying threat, suggesting that the app will continue to operate in the US. Trump questioned the notion that TikTok is uniquely vulnerable to Chinese government interference, pointing out that other Chinese-made products could also be used for spying ¹.

This development comes as the US government has been scrutinizing TikTok’s ownership and potential ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Despite these concerns, Trump’s comments suggest that he is not inclined to ban the app outright.

In other news, Trump has ordered the deployment of 1,500 ground troops to the southern border, along with aircraft support, as part of a crackdown on undocumented immigration. The troops will focus on installing border barriers, but will not be involved in law enforcement activities, according to a senior military official.
