Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress on Saturday secured a historic win in the FIBA U-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup by defeating China.

The Nigerian girls shocked the basketball world by earning their first-ever win at the competition, beating China 93-88 in their tournament opener in Brno, Czech Republic.

The odds appeared to be against the Nigerian princesses but that did not deter them from securing a historic triumph over their Chinese counterparts. Nigeria’s next group game is against Canada.
