The daughter of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has publicly accused her father of being involved in the death of his late wife, Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno, who passed away in September 2024 after battling an undisclosed illness.
The allegation surfaced in a video that is currently circulating widely online. Jane Edidiong Ufot, the governor’s second daughter and currently his Senior Special Adviser on Health, Safety, and Environment, described her late mother as a “sacrifice” and vowed not to meet the same end. “I’m not a sacrifice, mummy was, but I’m not,” she said in the video.
The footage also shows a moment where she hands her phone to her young daughter, who appears to be on a video call with Governor Eno. At her mother’s prompting, the child asks: “So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us? Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?”
No audible response is heard from the governor, and Mrs. Ufot does not specify who she meant by “them.” The identity of the “baby brother” mentioned also remains unconfirmed.nIn the video, Mrs. Ufot further claimed that her life and her daughter’s life were at risk due to undisclosed truths that she suggested may soon be revealed.
“If I die today or my daughter dies—if we die because God is exposing the truth—so be it. But my blood will not go scot-free,” she stated. Patience Umo Eno, the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, died on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
