The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) have finally commenced its 7-day warning strike, leaving many universities stranded.

In the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, members of the SSANU blocked the entrance gate of the University of Abuja on Monday, in compliance with the 7-day warning strike.

The directive of the warning strike indicates that there will be a complete blackout in all the universities, as water treatment plants and clinics will be shut down, while those involved in the proposed matriculations in some universities are to stay away from any activities.

The situation was similar at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as the entrance gate was locked, leaving students and workers stranded.
