The authorities of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, have reinstated Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution with immediate effect.

This was announced in a press statement issued on Thursday by the university’s Director of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, Njelita Louis.

According to Louis, the reinstatement follows the nullification of Prof. Bernard Odoh’s appointment as the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor, which was deemed illegal. He further stated that Prof. Ikechebelu has been directed to assume full administrative responsibilities without delay.

In addition, Mr. Victor Modebelu has been appointed Acting Registrar after the nullification of Mrs. Rosemary Ifeoma Nwokike’s appointment as the substantive Registrar.
