Social media personality and outspoken critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has publicly voiced concerns regarding an alleged intellectual property dispute with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a recent statement, VDM expressed frustration over what he perceives as an attempt to appropriate his ideas. He stated, “Everything is making sense to me now, dear EFCC. I have given you guys the blueprint of my idea, which you all applauded. The whole thing I told you was recorded in a video. It’s not a coincidence that after you granted me bail, a few days later, you brought me back to your interrogation room to talk about intellectual theft.”

VDM further suggested that if a similar idea had been presented to the EFCC two years ago, there should be a recorded version of it for comparison. He urged the commission to review past records to verify the originality of his claims, adding, “I feel you guys want to steal my idea and make money off it.”

The controversy follows VDM’s recent legal troubles, including his arrest and subsequent release on bail. His detention sparked widespread discussions on social media rallying behind him under the hashtag #FreeVDM.

At this time, the EFCC has not issued an official statement regarding the allegations of intellectual property theft. However, sources indicate that the commission is investigating multiple claims related to VDM’s activities.
