The West African Examinations Council has announced the introduction of resit examinations, allowing candidates to retake their West African Senior Secondary Examinations papers as early as January and February 2025.

Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show in Ghana on Sunday, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed the update.

Students who check their results and find that they need to resit one or two papers can register online through the WAEC website or at WAEC-accredited internet cafés until 8th January. The resit exams will be held from 24th January to 15th February 2025, Kapi added.

He also mentioned that students whose results were cancelled are eligible to sit for the WASSCE PC1 exams, provided they have not been banned for malpractice.
