Warri Refining And Petrochemicals Company Resumes Operations At 125,000 Barrels Per Day

The 125,000 barrels-per-day Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) has resumed operations, according to Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Kyari made the announcement during a facility tour on Monday, stating that while the refinery’s rehabilitation is not fully complete, operations have begun.

“This plant is running. Although it is not 100 percent complete, we are still in the process. Many people think these things are not real. We want you to see that this is real,” Kyari said.

The development follows the recent rehabilitation and partial reopening of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State.
