“We’re Not Responsible for Alleged Home Invasions”- EFCC Head of Media Sets Record Straight

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) head of media has responded to mounting concerns about reported invasions of EFCC officers on people’s homes.

In a statement, he emphasized that not all cases of break-ins are carried out by genuine EFCC officers, revealing that most instances involve impersonators seeking to discredit the commission.

To address this issue, the media head advised the public to verify the identities of individuals claiming to represent the EFCC. He encouraged people to report any suspicious activities to the commission’s dedicated hotlines, which are available 24/7.

The EFCC has repeatedly denied involvement in some reported invasions, and the media head’s statement reiterates this stance.

However, some members of the public remain skeptical, citing previous instances where the EFCC initially denied involvement, only for evidence to later emerge contradicting their claims.

The controversy highlights the need for increased transparency and accountability within the EFCC, as well as the importance of verifying the identities of individuals claiming to represent the commission.
