The organizers of the Taye Currency concert in Ibadan, Oyo State, have clarified why singer Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, did not perform at the event.

Speaking to Tribune Online, Jarule Entertainment, the event’s curator, cited security concerns stemming from recent comments made by Portable about Ibadan.

“We consulted the commissioner of police and even signed an undertaking. While security was provided at the venue, we received reports of individuals inquiring about Portable’s whereabouts and lodging in the city,” they stated.

Based on these concerns, the organizers decided to keep Portable away from the event entirely.

“He was the only artist unable to perform, which is unfortunate. However, as professionals, safety is our top priority. We hope the issue will be resolved soon,” they concluded.
