Wigwe University set to admit its first set of students

The university, established by the late Herbert Wigwe, former CEO of Access Holdings, aims to provide a world-class education that prepares students for the future.

Following his tragic death in a helicopter crash in California on February 9, 2024, alongside his wife Chizoba and son Chizzy, the university is committed to carrying on his legacy.

Located in Isiokpo, Rivers State, the institution will offer a diverse range of programs across four major colleges: College of Management and Social Sciences, College of Art, College of Science and Computing, and College of Engineering.

However, studying at this university comes at a high cost.

It is expected to be the most expensive university in the country when it officially opens.

According to the university’s website, the College of Arts has the lowest fees, with a total cost of N9.6 million.

Students enrolled in the College of Engineering, College of Management and Social Sciences, and College of Science and Computing will pay a total fee of N11,998,800 each.

These fees cover various expenses, including tuition, books, laboratory supplies, personal protective equipment, project lab resources, e-learning resources, health insurance, student membership in professional associations, student activities, and facilities maintenance.
