Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has described the planned national protest on August 1 as politically motivated.

During an inspection tour of the Apo Karshi Road in Abuja on Tuesday, Wike stated that the protest is intended to divert the attention of Nigerians from the efforts of the Bola Tinubu-led administration.

He appealed to Nigerians for patience, assuring them that the Federal Government is working on modalities to bring relief to the masses.
