Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has spoken out after a video of her receiving what many have described as a cold stare from an elderly woman at Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux’s traditional wedding went viral.

In the trending clip, Wumi was seen posing confidently and enjoying herself at the lavish #JP2025 event, when an older woman nearby appeared to fix her with a stern glare—an interaction that quickly drew reactions across social media.

Unaware of the moment as it happened, Wumi later addressed the incident during an Instagram Live, voicing her confusion and disappointment.

“Why did you give me a bad eye at the wedding? What exactly is my offence? Aside from my roles in movies, I don’t know you, and I’ve never done anything to you. I am always on my lane, minding my business,” she questioned emotionally.

She went on to suggest that the woman may have confused her with a character she played on screen, a misconception many actors deal with.

“She saw me and paused. I thought maybe her eyelashes entered her eyes or something, but she was just giving me this condescending look. Whatever you think about me will go back to your children. God knows I don’t know you,” Wumi added.

The actress’s candid response has sparked a wave of support online, with fans defending her and praising her grace under scrutiny.
