Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has categorically stated that he has no intention of contesting for the presidency in the 2027 elections.

In response to recent speculations and misleading reports, Bello’s media office, through his Director, Michael Ohiare, has dismissed claims suggesting that he is preparing for a presidential bid. The statement clarifies that Bello remains fully committed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and urges Nigerians to disregard any false narratives circulating online.

“Our attention has been drawn to yet another baseless post by mischief-makers attempting to mislead the public. We categorically state that His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has no presidential ambition for 2027. His unwavering support remains with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration has demonstrated commendable leadership despite global challenges,” the statement reads.

Bello’s media office further condemned the spread of misinformation, particularly the resurfacing of a 2022 rally video falsely presented as a recent event. The statement emphasized that such tactics are designed to create unnecessary political tension and should be ignored.
