Yemi Alade Creates History, Becomes First Nigerian Artist to Enter Cannes Festival Hall of Fame

Nigerian global sensation Yemi Alade has achieved yet another historic milestone in her remarkable career.

Renowned as the first female Nigerian artist to grace the AFCON stage, the versatile singer and performer has now extended her triumphs to the prestigious Cannes Festival in France.

At the Cannes Festival, the self-acclaimed ‘Mama Africa’ was honoured with a distinctive medal from Midem24, further embellishing her illustrious career with another accolade.

Showcasing her global appeal, Yemi Alade shared the stage with internationally renowned American singer Stewart Copeland and French performer Jean Michel, marking the beginning of the Midem 24 Cannes festival.

Taking to her Instagram page on January 26, 2024, the Johnny hitmaker expressed, “This young Legend made history in the last 24 hours as I printed my hand stamps in Cannes alongside legendary Stewart Copeland and Jean Michel, to kick start #midem24. Thank you for making me your Ambassador@midem.official. It’s an honor. The last 48 hours have been a movie; we had dinner with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and all the movers and shakers of the music and movie industry in Cannes. It’s been unreal. I’ll post a proper recap in a bit”.
