Yemi Cardoso resumes as Acting Governor of Central Bank

The Central Bank of Nigeria has confirmed that Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso, has assumed duty as the Governor of the apex bank in acting capacity pending his confirmation by the Senate.

Dr. Cardoso was recently nominated by President Bola Tinubu, to replace Godwin Emefiele, who has resigned from the position. The CBN also announced that the 4 deputy governors-designate have also resumed office – also in acting capacity.

Dr. Cardoso and his colleagues are now expected to lead and administer the monetary policies of the Federal Government.
