Yomi Fabiyi Fires Back at Mohbad’s Mother, Reveals Why Adura Was Arrested

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has addressed the arrest of Adura Aloba, the younger brother of late singer Mohbad, clarifying that it was a legal procedure linked to an ongoing homicide investigation.

A viral video surfaced on Wednesday showing Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Olumiyi, accusing Fabiyi of orchestrating Adura’s arrest at the premises of the Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos. She claimed that unidentified men, allegedly police officers, abducted her son and pleaded with Nigerians to help secure his release. She also insisted that Adura was innocent of any allegations Fabiyi had made against him.

However, in a statement released on Thursday by his foundation, ‘Break The Silence,’ through Public Relations Officer Gloria Ladeji, Fabiyi dismissed the allegations as baseless and defamatory. He argued that the claims were an attempt to mislead the public, obstruct police investigations, and interfere with the pursuit of justice.

Fabiyi: Adura Ignored Police Invitations Before Arrest

According to Fabiyi, Adura, along with Damola Ayinde Habeeb and Damilare Koleosho, were persons of interest in a homicide investigation being handled by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG Zone 2). He claimed that the police had officially invited them three times, but they refused to honor the invitations.

“They were called many times, and Adura Aloba and Damola Ayinde Habeeb remained indifferent to the invitation. Meanwhile, Damilare Ibrahim Koleosho had multiple exchanges with the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) via WhatsApp, making it clear that he would never comply. His other accomplices are still at large,” Fabiyi stated.

He further explained that the police secured a court-issued warrant before making the arrest.

Arrest Followed Legal Procedure – Fabiyi

Fabiyi clarified that officers from the Zonal Headquarters obtained an arrest warrant and waited outside the court to apprehend Adura on Wednesday.

“This was professionally carried out without stepping inside the court or its premises. Adura used the court as a shield for hours before eventually surrendering. His mother and lawyer, who were present, were informed of the police station he was being taken to and allowed to follow behind the police vehicle,” he said.

The actor urged the public to ignore Mohbad’s mother’s allegations, adding that his legal team would take legal action against her.
