The coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death has resumed at the Ikorodu magistrate court, with family members arriving for the proceedings.
The inquest which began on September 29, 2023, seeks to unravel the cause of death of the singer.
Mohbad passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023. He was buried the following day.
On September 21, his body was exhumed for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), which revealed no significant findings that could be attributed to his death.
The toxicology report did detect the presence of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, but not in a concentration considered fatal.
Mohbad’s family had rejected the results and demanded an independent investigation.
According to Monisola Odumosu, a member of the Aloba legal team, a two-part autopsy is currently underway, with the first phase completed and the second part involving toxicology and histology tests.
On Wednesday, TheCable Lifestyle spotted the singer’s parents Joseph and Abosede Aloba arriving at the court separately.
Yomi Fabiyi, the Nollywood actor, was also seen outside the court with a crowd staging a “peaceful” protest to demand justice for Mohbad.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry were noticeably absent in court — despite being served summon as key witnesses.
Primeboy, Marley, and Larry are among persons of interest in the death of Mohbad.
On October 13, Adedayo Shotobi, the coroner magistrate, directed the three suspects to appear before the court at the next adjourned date.
The police in Lagos also named Feyisola Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who injected Mohbad, as “the prime suspect” in the singer’s death.
Last month, Shotobi granted the application by Mohbad’s father to serve a witness summons on additional witnesses through a reputable national newspaper and social media.
