Bianca Ojukwu Congratulates Chidimma Adetshina for Historic Miss Universe Achievement

Bianca Ojukwu, former beauty queen and widow of the late Nigerian warlord Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, has expressed her heartfelt congratulations to Chidimma Adetshina following her impressive performance at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.

On November 17, 2024, Chidimma made history by becoming the first runner-up and was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, a remarkable achievement that garnered widespread praise on social media.

Bianca Ojukwu, who won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) title in 1988, took to Instagram to share her admiration for Chidimma. The newly-appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs posted a picture of the beauty queen along with an inspiring message for the young star.

In her emotional tribute, the 56-year-old mother of three commended Chidimma for her resilience, determination, and perseverance.

Bianca noted that although Chidimma did not secure the Miss Universe title, her performance marked Nigeria’s best showing in the competition. She acknowledged the significant challenges Chidimma had overcome to reach this point.

“A big Congratulations to our very own. Resilience, perseverance, and true grit will always win the day. Kudos to Chidimma Adetshina for making the nation proud. While she may not have won the pageant, this is our best performance yet, and she paved the way against all odds. She has earned her laurels. No night is so long that it isn’t followed by day.
