Hollywood actor Djimon Hounsou has revealed his financial struggles despite a career spanning over two decades and two Oscar nominations.
In a recent interview with CNN, the actor reflected on his achievements, admitting that, despite his success, he often faces financial difficulties and is underpaid.
“With two Oscar nominations and over two decades making films, Iām still struggling financially to make a living,” he shared.
Addressing Hollywoodās progress in African representation, Hounsou pointed out that the industry still has significant work to do in combating systemic racism.
He also spoke about feeling overlooked by the Oscars, recalling past experiences of being underestimated. āI was nominated for a Golden Bronze and got ignored by the Oscars. They thought I had just come off the boats,ā he stated.
