The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker representing Egor Constituency in the 8th Edo State House of Assembly, Natasha Osawuru, has responded to allegations by Mrs. Rose Idibia that she gave iconic singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, beads containing juju.
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding 2Baba’s marital issues, his mother recently called on Natasha to stay away from her son. She also claimed that the lawmaker had gifted the singer beads with mystical powers.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him,” she said. “Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him.”
Addressing the allegations in an interview with journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus, Natasha refuted claims that the beads were diabolical. She explained that they were family heirlooms and that 2Baba had taken them himself.
“Those beads were given to me on my birthday. They represent a princess from a royal family. You know I am from the Igbinedion Royal Family,” she said.
“On my last birthday, my mum gave me three nice beads. They call it ‘Ezeneka,’ which means ‘River that never runs dry.’ The pearl on his neck was given to me by my grandad. The Queen of England gave it to him when she was alive… You know my grandad was a knight to the Queen of England.
“So they are just traditional beads. He liked them and wore them. There is nothing to it. They are not diabolical and do not contain juju.”
Natasha further emphasized that she never placed the beads on 2Baba herself.
“I did not wear them on him. He saw them, liked them, and wore them. If you observe, you will see that he likes beads a lot and has been wearing several before now.”
