Former Nigerian First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has publicly shared her academic journey, testifying at the Streams of Joy International Church in Abuja after earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in psychology, guidance, and counselling from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.

During her testimony, Dame Patience recounted the challenges she faced while pursuing her PhD, including doubts about continuing her education after serving as Nigeria’s First Lady. She described how divine encouragement and determination helped her overcome obstacles, emphasizing that education has no age limit.

Reflecting on her experience, she shared how she attended classes alongside younger students, sometimes needing to ask questions multiple times before grasping concepts. Despite the difficulties, she persevered and successfully completed her studies.
