A Brazilian court has ruled that Adele’s 2015 track “Million Years Ago” plagiarized the 1996 song “Mulheres,” written by singer-songwriter Toninho Geraes and popularized by Martinho da Vila.

Judge Victor Torres issued a preliminary injunction in Rio de Janeiro, ordering Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music to cease all usage, reproduction, distribution, or commercialization of the song on radio, television, and streaming platforms worldwide. The decision mandates immediate compliance on both physical and digital platforms.
