Air Peace Announces 100% Increase in Domestic Flight Fares Starting November 1

Nigerian airline Air Peace has notified customers of a 100% nationwide increase in ticket prices effective November 1, 2024. This change comes ahead of the Christmas period, impacting travelers’ plans.

Current fares, such as the Lagos to Abuja one-way ticket priced at N143,000, will double to N286,000.

The airline attributed the hike in an email to customers, without providing further explanation. This move follows President Bola Tinubu’s recent petrol price increase to over N1,000, which led to nationwide transportation fare hikes.

The airfare increase will significantly affect Nigerians relying on air travel due to insecurity concerns. This price surge, coupled with rising transportation costs, will make travel unaffordable for many.

Air Peace’s decision will impact Nigerians traveling for end-of-year festivals, exacerbating the financial burden of increased transportation costs.
