Saif Ali Khan, 54, underwent surgery after sustaining multiple stab wounds during an attempted burglary at his Mumbai residence, his public relations team confirmed.

The actor, renowned for his performances in Dil Chahta Hai and Netflix’s Sacred Games, was attacked on Thursday. His team has requested fans to remain calm as Khan recovers.

Kareena Kapoor, Khan’s wife and a prominent Bollywood actress, told local media, “Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital. The rest of the family is doing fine.”

Niraj Uttamani, a senior official at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, reported that Khan suffered six injuries, including two deep wounds, and is currently receiving medical care.

The attack has left fans of the actor, son of former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, in shock.

Images from the Press Trust of India showed police conducting forensic examinations at Khan’s residence. Authorities are investigating the incident, though the intruder’s identity and motive remain unknown.

With over 70 films and TV series to his credit, Khan is celebrated both in India and globally. Fans and fellow celebrities have flooded social media with prayers and well-wishes for his swift recovery.
