A recent altercation between Nigerian lawmaker Alex Ikwechegh and a Bolt driver has taken an unexpected turn, as the driver involved has issued a formal apology for his role in the dispute. The incident, which initially led to allegations that Ikwechegh had physically assaulted the driver, sparked significant controversy and social media backlash.

Ikwechegh, who faced arraignment and was granted bail set at ₦500,000, is required to attend further court hearings regarding the matter. However, in a surprising development, the Bolt driver has publicly expressed remorse, apologizing for any actions or words on his part that may have contributed to the confrontation.

“I am the Bolt driver who had a misunderstanding with Honorable Alex Ikwechegh some days ago. I want to apologize to him for whatever I may have done or said to provoke him,” the driver stated. He further encouraged Nigerians to focus on unity and progress, adding, “This is a medium for Nigerians to unite and move the nation forward. Let’s forgive and forget.”
