Everton Sack Sean Dyche After Poor Run Of Form

Everton have parted ways with manager Sean Dyche following a dismal run of just one win in their last 11 Premier League games, leaving the club a point above the relegation zone.

Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman are set to take interim charge for the FA Cup third-round tie against Peterborough on Thursday evening. The Toffees currently sit 16th in the Premier League, failing to register a shot on target in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Bournemouth, their eighth league defeat of the season. The team has also failed to score in eight of their last 10 matches.

Dyche, who was appointed Everton manager in January 2023, helped the club avoid relegation with a final-day victory over Bournemouth last season. Despite an eight-point deduction this term for breaches of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules, he managed to keep the team in the top flight. However, this season’s poor performances have prompted the club’s new owners to act.

The decision to sack Dyche comes amid growing unrest among fans over the team’s style of play and lack of attacking output, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring just two goals this season. Recent speculation linked Everton with Graham Potter, but the former Chelsea boss opted to join West Ham instead.

The search for a new manager now begins, with the club facing significant challenges to maintain their Premier League status.
