Oil Marketers Flock to Dangote Refinery Amid Rising Fuel Imports

Oil marketers are increasingly turning to Dangote Petroleum Refinery for direct petrol supply, bypassing the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Others are importing the commodity, with hundreds of millions of litres expected to arrive in Nigeria within two weeks.

Recent reports indicate that four vessels carrying 123.4 million litres of imported PMS arrived at Nigerian seaports between October 18-20. This confirms earlier reports of oil dealers’ plans to supplement Dangote refinery’s supply with imports.

As major marketers import PMS, others have begun lifting the product directly from the Lekki-based Dangote refinery, signaling a shift in Nigeria’s fuel supply dynamics.
