Nigerian musician Primeboy has filed a lawsuit against the Nigeria Police Force, alleging human rights violations. The lawsuit was submitted to the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on October 11, 2024.

The legal action stems from Primeboy’s declaration as wanted by the Lagos State Police Command on October 4, 2023. This declaration was made after Primeboy allegedly failed to respond to police invitations related to the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death.

However, Primeboy voluntarily reported to the police just a day after the declaration.

Through his counsel, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Primeboy seeks:

1. A court declaration that the special police gazette bulletin infringes on his right to dignity.
2. Removal of his name from the wanted list.

This lawsuit follows Primeboy’s intention to sue Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, for alleged defamation.

The case highlights ongoing tensions surrounding Mohbad’s death and subsequent investigations.
