Psquare’s Peter Okoye Speaks Out Against Alleged Plot to Remove his Song

Nigerian music icon Peter Okoye, formerly of Psquare, has taken to social media to address a contentious issue surrounding his latest single, “WINNING.” The song’s ownership is disputed, with Peter claiming joint ownership with Calypso60music.

On Instagram, Peter expressed frustration:

“Call us names, call us childish… I understand. But when falsehoods are spread, I have a right to defend myself.”

He directly addressed his brother and former music partner, Rudeboy (Paul Okoye):

“You claimed to write ‘WINNING’ without knowing Calypso60music? Yet, Calypso60music and I are guiding your singing?”

Peter revealed that Paul and their brother Jude are attempting to remove “WINNING” from music platforms through legal action.

“For the record: Jude and Paul, through their lawyer, are trying to take down ‘WINNING.’ But I’ll fight for my rights.”

Peter reaffirmed his ownership:

“Calypso60music and I wrote ‘WINNING.’ I won’t back down.”

This public statement exposes the deepening rift between the Okoye brothers, stemming from their split from Psquare. Peter seeks to protect his creative work and clear his name amidst the controversy.
