Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has strongly responded to recent Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s condemnation of comments recently made by Obi during a recent global engagement. The words, which Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu referred to as “demarketing Nigeria,” have stirred public discourse.

In his response, Mr. Obi firmly believed that honesty about the current economic and social state of affairs in Nigeria is not sabotage but the beginning of real reform.

“Telling the truth is not demarketing Nigeria. If we fail to face our issues with honesty and courage, we cannot solve them. Countries do not develop by hiding facts, but by facing them squarely,” Obi said in a public lecture in Abuja on Tuesday.
