Famous Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has alerted the public to a new scam designed to target unsuspecting individuals in public spaces.

In a Friday Instagram post, Dikeh revealed that the scheme involves a scammer falsely accusing someone of making a fake bank transfer after a purchase. The scammer may create a scene by crying and wailing, drawing a crowd and pressuring the accused to resolve the matter immediately.

She warned that such situations could lead to embarrassment, wasted time, loss of belongings, or even physical harm due to the risk of mob action.

Dikeh urged the public to stay vigilant and take precautions to avoid falling victim to this tactic, stating, “Stay vigilant and stay safe because outside is wild these days.”
