VeryDarkMan Released from EFCC Custody After Meeting Bail Conditions

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after he fulfilled his bail conditions.

VDM’s arrest had sparked widespread public debate, with activists and legal practitioners demanding his release. The EFCC had stated that the activist was arrested in connection with petitions alleging financial misconduct against him. Following legal interventions and public pressure, VDM was released on administrative bail, which he has now satisfied.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has confirmed the release on social media, thanking all people for efforts which facilitated VDM’s freedom. His legal team, led by Deji Adeyanju, had earlier complained about delays in the fulfillment of the bail terms
