Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello has denied allegations of homosexuality, which led to his temporary suspension by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The suspension was announced in a memo dated October 28, 2024.

AdeBello addressed the allegations on Instagram, stating:

“Recent allegations against me on the Gist Lover blog prompted my response. Initially, I chose not to respond, considering multiple individuals were mentioned, likely to boost engagement.

However, as these claims have escalated to criminal allegations, I must clarify. My silence was misinterpreted as guilt.

I affirm:

– I never demanded sex from any male for assistance, platforms, or positions. God alone grants these.

– I never had sex with [individual’s name] or proposed sex.

The viral WhatsApp screenshot was taken out of context. It was part of a discussion on male reproductive health and self-esteem in a youth group chat.

We taught the teenagers:

– Proper reproductive health hygiene

– Choosing the right underwear

– Self-acceptance, regardless of size

It’s disheartening to see the screenshot misused to falsely accuse me.”

The RCCG memo emphasized the church’s opposition to homosexuality, citing biblical principles. AdeBello’s suspension is pending investigation.

This situation underscores the importance of verifying information and conducting fair investigations.
